On July 23rd at Charleville Castle in Tullamore, a powerful celebration of culture, resilience, and unity took place in the form of the Offaly Traveller Movement Traveller Pride Family Festival. This extraordinary event not only shed light on the rich traditions and contributions of the Traveller community but also fostered a sense of pride and belonging among its participants. By bringing together over 400 people from diverse backgrounds and promoting understanding, the festival proved to be an inspiring showcase of the strength and resilience of the Traveller community.

This family fun day was funded by the Department of Children Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth and coordinated by Offaly Traveller Movement, as part of a series of events held throughout the country for National Traveller Pride week. Traveller Pride events nationally, aim to improve partnerships between Traveller and settled communities, and promote cultural awareness of Travellers in Ireland.
